2020 Graduate Subsea Engineer

We are looking for talented and ambitious Graduate Engineers to be embedded in our Subsea Engineering department.

Based in our offices in Perth, you’ll join a team that will start you on the beginning of an exciting career path. TechnipFMC’s subsea engineering team perform engineering for the design and offshore construction of a variety of offshore and subsea equipment for the oil and gas and renewable energy industries. This includes design of our own technologies through to delivery of full field solutions ready for production operations. At TechnipFMC you’ll have the opportunity to develop robust, innovative solutions and interact with clients, subcontractors and vendors as part of your daily role. You will be exposed to occasional travel to our onshore and offshore sites to perform assigned tasks.

 
Job description
  • Undertake subsea engineering tasks in the flexible riser and flowline design, subsea installation or structural design disciplines (as assigned during employment as a graduate) as required by projects and tenders
  • Comply with corporate standards, client requirements, legislation and industry standards
  • Prepare/deliver high quality, safe and environmentally responsible engineering solutions
  • Originate engineering deliverables in accordance with project schedule requirements
  • Interface with Engineering and Drafting teams on project requirements
  • Participate in formal and informal reporting to the assigned Senior / Principal Engineer and Discipline Lead on progress of engineering tasks and key issues
  • Provide field engineering support to assist fabrication, testing and construction activities
  • Proactively participate in HSE initiatives and standards including JSAs and Risk Assessments
  • Assist in the investigation and disposition of service or quality notifications, including root cause analysis and ensuring preventive actions are implemented where required
  • Provide support (in terms of hands-on involvement) to offsite or offshore testing, completion, intervention, commissioning and/or troubleshooting of TechnipFMC systems
  • Attend meetings with Clients, Suppliers and / or Consultants to assist on technical issues relating to engineering
  • Assist Engineering Discipline Leader in development of Discipline Engineering Technical Notes and Guidelines
You are meant for this job if you
  • Are an Australian Citizen or permanent resident
  • Are set to graduate in 2019 or recently graduated with a bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia that is relevant to subsea engineering with a minimum course weighted average of 65% or higher
  • Have a demonstrable interest in subsea engineering
  • Have some exposure to a professional engineering/project environment demonstrated throughout course of study
  • Have excellent written and spoken English
  • Have exceptionally organised with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Have a strong computer literacy with Intermediate Microsoft office
  • Have a willingness to learn and be challenged
  • Demonstrate initiative and have the ability to make decisions
  • Display a high regard for safety and demonstrate the TechnipFMC core values
Demands
 

This role will demand the below of the successful candidate;

  • Travel to client, subcontractor, vendor and consultant offices for meetings.
  • Travel to either onshore or offshore sites when required.
  • Working extended hours occasionally to meet the job / project requirements
  • Time allocation: 10-20% Site/Offshore, 80-90% Office.
