·         The technician’s primary responsibility is working safely and to help support the safety culture in the workshop.

·         Become a key functional team member.

·         Completion of functional rotations through the workshop.

·         Complete an components as needed.

·         Learns procedures and best practices on safety and quality to prepare for next level. Assists other technicians as assigned in more advanced functions as part of training.

·         Assembles, tests, and installs products according to FMCTI specifications. Masters basic skills and some advanced skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise.

·         Performs/Supports FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), EFATs (Extended Factory Acceptance Tests), and SITs (System Integration Tests) as required.

·         Can perform basic troubleshooting on failed electronic, hydraulic or mechanical equipment of minor to moderate difficulty with support.

·         Learns to troubleshoot circuits using the appropriate test equipment, schematic drawings and knowledge of electronics to determine the failure mode.

·         Apprenticeship Program to become acclimated to the shop environment and complete necessary training; prior to taking on work directly.


First 3 months

·         Gaining exposure and training on schematics; both hydraulic and electrical.

·         Pressure testing certification.

·         Supporting Senor Technician’s in the shop Learning/Conducting various test activities

·         Provide “Project Support” as required, for all new projects which includes: understanding the use of different equipment and tools, reviewing procedures, and observing project RIT’s (Receiving Inspection Test).

·         Support FAT’s (Factory Acceptance Test), EFAT’s (Extended Factory Acceptance Test) and SIT’s (System Integration Test) as required for upper level assembly applications.

·         Support XT testing and controls installation

·         Support all areas of the workshop

·         Prepares and sets up proper equipment.

·         Collects, records, and maintains quality records and required test documentation associated with receipt, in process, and final inspection including test reports, failed test reports, Quality Notifications (QNs) in a clear, accurate manner.

·         Notifies Lead or Supervisor for resolution of procedural or other related issues.

·         Practices safe work habits and good housekeeping, maintaining the cleanliness of the work area and all tools.

·         Disposes of all fluids including hydraulic and silicone oils according to established safety and environmental policies.

·         Ensures that all materials necessary for the maintenance of the work area are in stock. This includes hand wipes, solvents, cleaning solutions and etc.

·         Maintains test equipment per procedures.

·         Ensures maintenance of calibration records for all electronic, mechanical and hydraulic test equipment of work area. Prepares equipment for shipping as directed

·         Uses material handling equipment to move parts




·         Performs/Supports RIT’s (Receiving Inspection Test); assists with FAT’s (Factory Acceptance Test), EFAT’s (Extended Factory Acceptance Test) and SIT’s (System Integration Test) as required for upper level assembly applications.

·         Test, troubleshoot, and assemble complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic assemblies using proprietary software and tools with support/supervision.

·         Support shop maintenance and process improvement



·         High school diploma or equivalent. Technical, vocational, or military training or related experience preferred.

·         Must be able to comprehend schematics, work orders, and test instructions and other technical documents.

·         Must possess the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.

·         Ability to operate Overhead Cranes, Jib Cranes, Forklifts, and Rigging.

·         Has understanding of electronics and hydraulic equipment.

·         1+ years of electrical and hydraulic experience preferred.

·         Understanding/experience of AC/DC electricity/circuits

·         Must possess mechanical aptitude.

·         1+ years mechanical experience preferred.

·         Experience in Subsea Controls or a related field or environment preferred. i.e. Test Technician, Engineering Technician, Lab Technician, Field Service Technician

·         Test/industrial controls background preferred

·         Must pass all classroom and handson evaluations per new hire training curriculum.

·         Able to perform low level (i.e. electrical jumpers/sensor harnesses) RIT requirements with minor assistance.

·         Strong interpersonal skills, must work well with others as part of a team.

·         Demonstrates high aptitude for customer service responsiveness.

·         Flexible schedule
