Job Title:          Associate Production Technologist II              Business/Location: Hyderabad
Job Purpose Statement:  (Provide a short overview of the role; describe its context in the organisation, the required contribution and in clear terms what the position is responsible for)
Contributes primarily as support for workshops ensuring processes and equipment are in place and aligned with the production schedule.  A strong focus on workshop safety for the handling of material, and the operation of tooling/equipment. Day to day collaboration with shop supervision, and execute production process operators for production of components and assemblies.
Accomplishes work within existing systems and under supervision.

(a)   Superior                 Manufacturing or Production Engineering Manager and Supervisor
(b)   Colleagues            Manufacturing and Production Technologists and Engineers, Execute                           Production Process Operators, Shop Floor Supervisors.

Main Accountabilities:  (state most important accountabilities, activities & outputs.  Approx 5-9)
  • Create and maintain Routings in line with Company standards when required.
  • Pro-Actively analyse the handling of material through the shop floor, while employing the hierarchy of controls to eliminate, reduce or control risks.
  • Review of drawings, part reports and procedures to ensure parts can be safely produced in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
  • Assist in Quality Notification disposition where required.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Provides input to production documentation such as Standard Work Instructions, capability reports and tooling, jigs, and fixtures specifications.
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of process improvements utilising GWI187, under instruction from more senior production engineers.
  • Identify improvements to shop tooling, jigs and fixtures, and contribute to the readiness of such equipment for production.
  • Utilise the Production Engineering Visual Management System to manage and execute workload.

Key relationships:  (List internal/external customers/suppliers and summarise the service given/the issues communicated within these relationships)
Internal:           Production Engineers/Technologists, Shop Floor Supervisors, Production                                      Managers, Manufacturing Specialist.
External:          May contribute from time to time in Global Production Engineering Forums and Groups,                  best practice sharing, project improvement teams.
Dimensions: (Outline the scale and areas of impact e.g. number of staff managed, budget responsible for, value of inventories controlled, total revenues etc)
On Time Delivery (OTD) of routings. SWIs and Production Documentation, Production Engineering Flowboard OTD.  Follows Production Engineering processes such as GWI 180 and GWI 187 under instruction and supervision from more senior production engineers.

Experience:  (required for this role)
Experienced in line with the Global Production Engineering Job Family Qualification Catalogue.
Typically 5 plus years experinece
Qualifications: the essential/minimum qualification requirements and preferred/desired additions
Key Skills:  (outline specific skills requirements required for the role, both technical and personal)
  • Developing effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in a written format.
  • Developing ability to read and understand production drawings.
  • Developing ability to read, interpret and prepare applicable technical information and suggest design/process changes to ensure simple, functional & cost effective results.
  • Understanding in use of CAD and Database systems related to Engineering functions.
  • Basic understanding of requirements and able to create documents used for production.
