The Schilling Robotics business unit develops complex electro-mechanical robotics and teleoperated vehicles for use in the deep ocean. The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for the strategic planning, development and execution of the entire supply chain.  This includes: supplier management, materials procurement, prototype and production planning, inventory management, outsource design management, and supplier development.  The position requires internal and external cross-functional collaboration and relationship management.  The candidate must demonstrate strong strategic planning, influencing and communication skills to be successful in this role.


·         Develop and facilitate the overall supply chain strategy including cost reductions, lead-time improvements, logistics management, inventory management and supplier improvement.

·         Provide leadership to Supply Chain team that includes performance management, mentoring, hiring, development and training.

·         Facilitate complex supplier negotiations, material cost reduction efforts, pricing and delivery improvements, and other issues related to supply chain management.

·         Drive lean/continuous improvement throughout the supply chain.

·         Work closely with product development teams to coordinate Supply Chain deliverables needed to meet prototype and production ramp schedules.

·         Track supplier Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost (SQDC) performance and drive improvement.

·         Develop, maintain and report department performance metrics.

·         Ensure Supply Chain processes are current and in accordance with corporate requirements.

·         Ensure execution of subcontracted work.

·         Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

·         Other applicable duties, as assigned or required.


·         BS degree in Supply Chain or related field.

·         7+ years hands-on experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, procurement and/or supplier management.

·         5+ year management experience.

·         Ability to analyze and solve a wide range of complex technical and business challenges utilizing an array of problem solving methodologies.

·         Demonstrated experience applying supply chain best practices to achieve targeted results.

·         Ability to read and understand technical drawing and specifications.

·         Experience with materials planning logistics and supply chain software (MRP/ERP).

·         Experience assessing, selecting, developing, and managing supplier relationships.

·         Effective communication and negotiation skills.

·         Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.



·         Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, listen and speak for long periods of time.

·         Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, and lift.

·         Wear steel toe shoes, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment as needed.

·         Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

·         Frequent use of PC.

·         Close visual acuity is required to perform activities such a viewing computer screens and reading.
