RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Own-Operate-Manage engineering training, talent development programs, and lean engineering processes and initiatives for TechnipFMC in Hyderabad.

 

Responsible for execution, resource utilization, and development of engineering programs, associated budgets, schedules and supporting execution plans.

 

Manages engineering rotation program, practical hands-on exposure programs for engineering graduates and may have up to 30 direct reports comprising of engineering graduates and interns.

 

Builds strong working relationships with peers, and engineering teams around the globe so that the programs and initiatives are well represented in discussions and decisions.  Also, develops strong working relationships with customers' and vendors (internal & external), conducts productive meetings, delivers results that are technically and economically viable, and meets growth demand and expectations.

 

MAIN TASKS:

 

  • Process Owner for the following:
    • Engineering Training and Development programs for lateral hires
    • Engineering Rotation Program from engineering graduate engineers
    • Lean Process and Product Development (LPPD) initiatives for Hyderabad
    • Value Stream Mapping (VSM), engineering visual board development for various engineering initiatives in Hyderabad.
  • Process Operator for the following:
    • Overall delivery of training and development programs for engineering that includes the appropriate mix of classroom training, on-the-job training, and practical hands-on and shop floor exposure per the individual needs.
    • Utilization of global systems, processes, programs, initiatives, and activities into local processes.  

·        Participates in driving continuous improvement of engineering execution processes in various engineering teams, in alignment with overall business processes and objectives. This includes:

o   Establishes KPIs to continuously monitor and communicate engineering performance.

o   Establishes, implements and maintains engineering processes based on Lean Engineering Philosophy with the aim to increase efficiency and productivity.

  • Measure, analyse, and improve engineering program effectiveness. Improve training experience by developing and responding to program metrics and KPIs, as well as collaborating with engineers to develop curriculum and content delivery.

 

 

 

 

·        Motivates and empowers engineering resources to perform at consistently high levels, removes barriers, and holds them accountable for work output.

·        Builds the environment to foster collaboration and team work.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field with at least eight years of relevant industry experience, or a Master’s Degree with at least four years of relevant industry experience.

·        Experience developing and managing training and development programs for large and growing engineering organizations.

·        Hands-on exposure in developing and implementing value stream mapping, Kanban boards, LPPD processes.

  • Experience in conducting organizational, program level, and individual needs analysis to identify learning and development needs; experience in running targeted development programs.
  • Good knowledge of the technical training/learning related offerings available in the market, including relevant training organizations and service providers.
  • Experience coordinating large multi-day events with various moving parts and players

·        Proficient in various productivity enhancement, scheduling, planning, and engineering management software and tools.

·        Advanced analytical, problem solving, accuracy, attention to details, and interpersonal skills.

·        Ability to establish deadlines for the team, manage priorities, and effectively achieve the goals in fast paced environment is critical.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills in English is essential to effectively coach, mentor, and develop the team. Ability to foster communication within diverse cultural environments.

·        Ability to plan, communicate/present concepts and reports on complex topics with the ability to persuade and influence others as needed.

·        Ability to give and receive constructive feedback/coaching and to respond appropriately.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Spends most of time in a temperature controlled office environment.  Some travel required.  Possible exposure to heavy machinery, loud noises, etc. within a manufacturing environment.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Frequent sitting and operating a computer. Travel (international and domestic) between 10–25%.  Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change.
