Job Description:
In this role, you will install, repair and troubleshoots surface wellhead systems.  These technicians have achieved competence, with expertise, in several of the units and have proven their ability to influence the customer in these areas. This is a critical customer facing position which requires attention to detail, accountability and a commitment to flawless execution and owning performance. 

  • Works independently to install new products and conducts repairs of TechnipFMC equipment insuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining assets.
  • Provides project start-up expertise, to include oversight during first installations.
  • Assure all equipment, service tooling and spare parts are on location and ready to use and function fit prior to beginning each job.  Records critical dimensions to ensure assembly will work and obtains and reviews or creates product running procedures
  • Provides “Project Support” as required, for all new projects which includes: attending design review for equipment and tools and reviewing installation procedures.
  • Maintains communication with Company Representative on issues including job procedures, spare parts requirements, function fit and critical dimension measurements.
  • Provides sales support through quality customer interface and keeps customer fully informed of all aspects of the job.  Handles customer complaints in a professional manner.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in operations and potential sales opportunities and communicate same to organization
  • Document product problems or service quality issues when encountered.  Assures all equipment and procedural defects are communicated back to TechnipFMC Service Management.
  • Prepares and submits Field Service Orders and other region required reports after each job is complete.  Completes a Tally book or other form to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions and customer questions and complaints.
  • Understands and follows all TechnipFMC and customer safety requirements.  Proactively pursues safe work practices, recommends safe work practices/procedures and participates in safety meetings and safety training.
  • Acts as lead technician and assists with training of less experienced technicians as needed.
  • Should have direct technical experience with the following:
    • Unihead style wellhead assemblies.
    • Internal latch ring style tubing heads/hangers/packoffs/barrier plugs & associated R&R tools
    • Hydraulic and manual lubricators (MPL, VR, PBMO)
    • Installation and removal of Back Pressure Valves (BPV) and maintenance 
    • ESP applications for completions
    • Offline cementing operations
    • BOP quick connectors (SWC and Speedloc)
    • API bolting specs/requirements
    • Pressure testing requirements

You are meant for this job if:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude. 
  • High school diploma.   Technical/vocational/or military training or related experience.  Associates degree a plus.
  • At least five years mechanical, electronic and hydraulic related experience in an oilfield equipment environment.
  • 5+ years experience as an oilfield service technician
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.  
  • Physically fit and able.
  • Customer service skills - communication skills, strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Organized and systematic with troubleshooting and problem assessment skills.  Systems oriented and highly motivated with a positive attitude.
