Introduction to the Job

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor who can join our multicultural team in Stephenville, Texas. Under the direction of the Hub Operations Controller, responsible for leading in the areas of General, Inventory and Capital/Fixed Assets Reporting for Fluid Control which includes but is not limited to the following: Inventory reporting, Fixed Asset/Capital reporting, ensure SOX and audit compliance, and all aspects of General Accounting. Also assist in reviewing and approving GL Reconciliations.    

Job description
  • Inventory Accounting reporting, Fixed Asset/Capital reporting, Compliance/Sox and various other General Accounting duties. 
  • Supervise individuals currently responsible for various accounting functions (listed above). 
  • Manage the workload effectively and efficiently for the areas of responsibility (listed above).
  • Managerial responsibility including hiring and performance decisions.
  • Mentor and coach staff as part of succession planning and preparation for their “next role”.  Encourage growth, accountability, and leadership in their direct reports.
  • Be main contact person to our customers for the areas under their leadership.
  • Investigate open issues requiring resolution.
  • Approve reconciliations of one or more accounts.
  • Assist in proper handling and recording of complex transactions, projects, and events.
  • Identify management information needs, present findings and make recommendations regarding appropriate actions.
  • Assist in the development, review and implementation of key processes, policies and procedures related to areas assigned.
  • Prepare, and record monthly journal entries. 
  • Proactively review established accounting practices and procedures. Recommend changes in and additions to such practices and procedures. Implement such changes where applicable and approved to enhance the department’s efficiencies and effectiveness
  • Identify cost, quality or efficiency trends and develop necessary corrective actions.
  • Analyze competitive data and determine best practices and possible strategy changes.
  • Assess financial performance and suggest appropriate corrective actions.

You are meant for this job if

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required
  • Five or more years of finance/audit/accounting experience is required, preferably with some experience in a manufacturing environment Proven ability to work cohesively and effectively with others is required. 
  • A high level of communication skills is required to interact with all levels of personnel, direct reports, customers, and management. 
  • A substantial level of order and structure is required to meet established deadlines. 
  • Proficient in personal computer skills (Excel and Word).
  • SAP proficiency is highly preferred.
  • Have a drive to change things and share this vision with a team.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving skills. 
  • Fast and flexible; multi tasked, organized.
  • Travel required as necessary (up to 25%).
