POSITION PURPOSE:  The Integrated ROV Service Pilot 3 is the senior ROV systems engineer who works as the lead ROV operator on given crew. This individual understands the ROV system to the extent of being able to comprehensively train others on equipment and ROV operations. Primary responsibility falls on piloting of the ROV, maintenance and repair of the ROV system, implementation and monitoring of technical procedures and reporting, work management and execution of safe and efficient ROV operational tasks.
This position is required to act as a subject matter expert for piloting of the ROV and fulfilling daily activities to keep the ROV system operational and fit for use.
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ROV system and to conduct the operations detailed in the project plan, as instructed by the system supervisor / superintendent.
  • Strive to become more efficient in ROV tasks and standardized operations.
  • Carry out planned maintenance schedule and update preventive maintenance system records.
  • Carry out emergency and running repairs of the ROV system and ancillary equipment under the direction of the superintendent / supervisor.
  • In charge of daily routines, procedures, and completion of system and project paper work (i.e. inventory, weekly technical / status / safety reports, dive logs, video logs, etc). 
  • Responsible for performing ROV tasks in safe and efficient manner.
  • Inventory control of the system spares and consumables.
  • Raise purchase requisitions to maintain the spares inventory at the correct level.
  • When designated, attend chairing of weekly safety meetings.
  • Attend site project planning and briefing meetings.
  • Participate, as needed, in Technical/Operational reviews in preparation for the execution of customer operations.
  • Proactively pursues the attainment of new technical training and skills to advance and update knowledge and competence.
  • Ability to Locate all relevant health, safety and quality procedures at the worksite.
  • Champions TechnipFMC Quality/HSE values and culture in all on/offshore environments.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality service.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with immediate team members.
  • Utilize navigational aids in order to direct and assist in piloting ROV.
  • System setup and configuration, operation and maintenance. 
  • Assist with training of Operator 1 and 2.
  • Ability to effectively work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of ROV control, navigational and propulsion systems.
  • Carry out planned maintenance and repair tasks on the ROV system and ancillary equipment as required
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Typically, 5+ years’ in ROV industry or experience in similar role.
  • Valid Driver’s license and Passport for travel required.
  • Offshore Medical and Survival Certs.
  • Seaman’s Book.
  • Experience of drill and completion rig support and subsea production system installation is a plus.
  • Competence as an ROV Pilot Technician Grade l (IMCA C005) or equivalent certification.
  • Recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise within Mechanical / Hydraulic or Electrical / Electronic disciplines.
  • Schilling ROV Pilot Experience; Hammerhead preferred.
  • Understanding of complex offshore systems and oil and gas equipment. Systems include: ROV, LARS, control software, BOPs, subsea production equipment and vessel operations.
  • Strong computer proficiency within applicable software applications in related field. IT experience is desirable.
  • Ability to assess weather conditions to ensure safety of ROV and crew.
  • Strong leadership qualities. 
  • Assertive and works well under pressure and leads by example.
  • Ability to analyze trends and deviation of standards and implement creative, unique, cross-functional solutions (ROV / Subsea production hardware).
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, software and/or system failures using established procedures.
  • Possess a service-oriented business mentality and models this behavior.

  • Ability to understand, troubleshoot, explain and teach others about technical tools and instruments required to perform duties.

Work is primarily in the field environment including offshore drilling and production platforms, installation vessels and international locations. Work is outside and therefore conditions are dependent of the elements (heat, cold, wet, etc.)
The job is often required to be done in high noise areas and depending on the particular job, is often completed in a very dirty environment.
Must be able to work varied schedule with extended hours.
Very physical job requiring frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
Uses mechanical hand tools including all types of manual wrenches and many types of power tools driven with hydraulics, electronics and pneumatics.
