Inventory Control Supervisor

 

PURPOSE:

Responsible to carry out/supervise the following functions

 

Inventory Analysis:

·         Performs high level material analysis.  Creates smart stocking plans for successful execution of routine, aftermarket, and or forecasted demand.  Identifies opportunities for optimum inventory management. Analyzes and dispositions excess and obsolete material determining organizational value or financial burden.  Responsible for reporting and tracking inventory performance, evaluating risks and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.  Serves as a liaison and coordinates between finance, procurement, account management, planning and operations.

Sales Order Entry / Maintenance:

·         Performs high level Sales Order analysis. Ensures all appropriate processes are followed within functional area. Spot checks Sales Orders for errors and accuracy including but not limited to; well name, taxable customer/well site, customer purchase order and/or AFE, steel surcharges, rental charges.

Billing:

·         Manages unbilled shipments (UBS) for wellhead operations and holds regular interdepartmental meetings to resolve any unbilled sales orders. Resolves issues preventing the billing of sales orders.

Revenue Forecast:

·         Monitors and reports projected revenue for new wellhead equipment

Material Flow:

·         Collaborates with various departments to implement and monitor material flow in all areas of Materials and Sales Order management (warehouse) from planning of material to delivery.  In coordination with Warehouse Supervisor and Planning monitors the flow of material and leads efforts to ensure any break in material flow is resolved in a timely manner. Identifies inefficient flow practices, making recommendations for improvement and leading collaborative efforts to create lasting process improvement.  Assists Materials Management/Inventory Control with efforts to reduce waste: labor hours, unnecessary material movement, material cost and expediting cost.  Makes recommendation for proper protection of materials as it moves through the flow areas. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least four years related experience in MRP Planning, warehousing and/or other related inventory control functions.
  • At least two years of management or supervisory experience.

·         Strong interpersonal skills with ability to persuade and influence others.

·         Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Strong SAP knowledge preferred.

·         Ability to prepare and present complex reports to management.

  • Ability to transfer subject matter expertise.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business and across functional areas.

·         Ability to coach and mentor others.

·         Ability to lead cross functional project teams.

·         Demonstrates a commitment to prevention rather than appraisal of nonconforming conditions,       activities or behavior related to inventory control.

·         Demonstrates job-specific planning and organizational skills.

·         Possess basic knowledge and solid understanding of finance, cost accounting and how both relate to inventory.

·         Knowledge pertaining to inventory audit functions and how they affect overall business.

·         Intermediate analytical and problem solving skills required; systematically utilizes prevention skills.

·         Demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety and HSE policies.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Describe general working conditions (i.e. noise level, temperature, around heavy machinery) 

95% office-5% warehouse, shop and outdoor storage yard

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Describe amount & frequency of physical requirements of the position (i.e. lifting, pushing, climbing)

Sitting and operating a computer.  Occasional walking through warehouse, shop and outdoor storage yard.
