POSITION : Unified Communications Engineer.
REPORTING TO THE : Unified Communications Manager
BASED IN : Kuala Lumpur 

JOB PURPOSE : 
The position as Unified Communications Engineer will maintain the company’s interest regarding operations and development of Unified Communication solutions (telephony, video conference and online conferencing solutions). The position has responsibilities to maintain, upgrade and develop the systems globally with special focus on and responsibility for regional systems. In addition, participating and running projects to expand current systems or deploy new systems/locations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Support and Maintain a technological infrastructure plan for Unified Communication infrastructure according to company policies and standards, focusing on performance, availability and meeting agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • Ensure high quality delivery of IT services through proper testing, quality assurance and documentation preceding complete rollout and normal operation
  • Lead or participate in IT projects (locally or regionally), focusing on On-Time-Delivery and supporting the IT PMO processes
  • Ensure availability and capacity of unified communication infrastructure components according to business requirements
  • Set up and deploy new site office IT infrastructure and services allowing for business requirements
  • Ensure IT Security and continuity providing security patching, software and hardware updates in the unified communication infrastructure area.
  • Provide 2nd level support for incidents and problems escalated from local and regional IT service desk
  • Align and comply to group GOPS, guidelines, IT policies and standards, with the goal of zero audit deficiencies
  • Ensure relevant backup and recovery of data, software and system configurations in order to support the IT disaster Recovery plan
  • Implement, operate, monitor and maintain/optimize unified communication infrastructure components according to approved plans, budgets and business requirements
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers
  • Develop and maintain IT procedures and documentations
  • Rostered for 24x7 on-call duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION :

Bachelor education/degree in computer science
Minimum 8 years of experience with IT operations and infrastructure 
Minimum 4 years of experience within unified communication infrastructure area
Minimum 4 years of experience working with ITIL processes
Experienced in Call Manager Administration
Experience of managing PBX system
Should have a high degree of competency in technical areas: Telephony and Video Conference infrastructure services, call routing, Contact Center, SIP and H323 protocols, LDAP, QoS, MPLS, SNMP,SAF and ICT, Expressways.
Strong or excellent communication skill in English
Excellent communications and team work skills
Flexible attitude to work hours
A good team player with the ability to work under pressure
Ability to gain and apply knowledge quickly
Ability to handle multiple priorities at one time and is results oriented

WORK ENVIORNMENT:
Occasional overseas travel as required by project and other demands
Work extended hours or after hours as required in project rollout or implementation of upgrades/fixes/changes to core infrastructure that cannot be offline during business hours
Requires to be available for emergency response activation and participate in emergency response exercises if required.
Work environment will at times be inside data center’s or server rooms where the noise level is above average office environment and temperature would be around 19 degrees Celsius.
Occasional requirement to attend operational sites, constructions sites which may have requirements for the use of PPE and awareness to working around heavy machinery
