Lead Engineer Electrical – Controls & Automation

POSITION PURPOSE:
• Lead the systems engineering activities for controls & automation solutions for oil/gas production systems including subsea, surface, and onshore/offshore facilities/plants.
• Execute projects in accordance with the TechnipFMC engineering execution processes and work instructions ensuring compliance to global industry standards and government regulations.
• Provide systems engineering leadership of the project team.
• Management of project schedule and deliverables to ensure on time delivery under project budgets.
• Leads a fast-paced project and engineering team as needed.
• Prioritize and anticipate internal and external risks and challenges and recommends best practice solutions and mitigation strategies.
• Anticipate and identify complex inter-departmental issues and devise strategies to address.
• Independently design complex oilfield package and subsea equipment with a mastery of one or more products and system process.
• Perform early engagement activities with clients to identify and document project scope and perform integrated front-end engineering design (FEED).
• Liaise with Customers and Suppliers in engineering leadership of integrated EPCI projects

POSITION DUTIES:
• Manage the negotiation of system and product requirements for Controls & Automation solutions for oil/gas production systems, working with both internal and external clients as well as supply chain representatives.
• Author and document system requirements specifications and drive adherence to requirements by vetting product and solution designs.
• Create Electrical/Mechanical engineering design, technical documentation and drawing packages for controls and automation package equipment and systems architectures.
• Conceptualizes and lead design activities, including conducting internal and external technical reviews to freeze requirements, system/product designs, manufacturing instructions, and operations instructions.
• Support manufacturing in the procurement, build, test, assemble of controls & automation equipment.
• Support manufacturing factory acceptance and integration tests.
• Complete and deliver design packages for subsea, surface, and onshore/offshore controls equipment.
• Communicates with customers, project management, and other internal groups on project status and issues; tracks and leads project technical issue resolution.
• Provide project management by creating and managing project schedules and budget reports.
• Provide technical leadership during tendering activities for new project opportunities.
• Provide leadership during project execution by driving quality, health, safety, and environment teams and adhere to practice requirements including continuous improvement endeavors.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Degreed Electrical Engineer with at least 13 years of Engineering experience in the Oil & Gas Industry. 
• Direct experience working as a systems engineer in the documentation of cost optimal system requirements and system architecture of controls and automation solutions for oil/gas production systems.
• Direct experience with Electrical/Mechanical system design such as Hydraulic Power Units, Topside Umbilical Termination Units, Chemical injection unit, Fracking Systems, Electrical Switch Gear, Subsea Electrical/Optical/Hydraulic/Chemical distribution systems, Workover Control Systems, etc.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership of technical teams in execution of projects constrained by safety, quality, delivery and cost requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to work directly with clients in the oil/gas industry to identify and negotiate on technical requirements and project execution methodology.
• Demonstrated Ability to make independent system recommendations utilizing advanced analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must drive self and others in accuracy during project execution.
• Must be dependable with the ability to manage schedule and prioritize work for self and others in team.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a leader of a technical team - a self-motivated self-starter.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to effectively teach and to transfer subject matter expertise.
• Demonstrated ability to design complex engineering plans and review/approve design work for systems and products
