About the role –
  • Understand the technical data and discipline work instructions
  • Identify personnel development path and training needs
  • Assist with annual appraisals as per company’s annual Human Resource policy.
  • Follow project management instructions to ensure completion of project is in accordance with project requirements, relevant laws, regulations and codes.
  • Reviews job scope and provides estimates, where necessary for activity completion.
  • Prepares detailed schedules for applicable engineering activities.
  • Reviews and checks applicable project specifications.
  • Develops and analyses engineering solutions to specific job requirements.
  • Prepares and checks equipment/material specifications / data sheets.
  • Prepares and checks calculations, where necessary.
  • Provides technical bid evaluations input.
  • Liaises with other disciplines for applicable engineering interfaces.
  • Reviews and approves all relevant data.
  • Participates in engineering co-ordination / progress meetings, and ensures corrective actions are taken when necessary.
  • Participates in safety and design review meeting, where necessary.
About you –
  • Engineering degree qualified in Pipeline / Mechanical / Civil / structure Engineering
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in offshore / subsea pipeline engineering (Conceptual/ FEED / detailed design) in the oil and gas industry and should have executed as lead at least 5 major pipeline projects
  • Should have thorough knowledge and experience in deep water pipeline engineering and should have executed as lead at least 1 major deepwater pipeline projects
  • Should have  hands-on experience in HPHT pipeline design such as global buckling and walking and their mitigation design
  • Should have knowledge and relevant experience in the following subsea areas:
    • Subsea URF and SPS equipment
    • Pipeline and subsea installation methods, risks and mitigations
    • Systems design and manufacture codes and standards
    • Functional Knowledge of advancing subsea technologies
    • Strong subsea ‘generalist’ background
    • Knowledge in subsea structures – ILT, PLET, manifold etc and their installations aspects
  • Should have project leadership skills
  • Should have front end experience with understanding of – screening methodologies, design philosophies, define bases and cost estimation
  • Should have hands-on experience in pipeline design software – DNV spreadsheet, AGA, Stablelines, Offpipe, Orcaflex, Sage profile, Autopipe, Fatfree and Abaqus / Ansys, and Mathcad and Excel
  • Should be well versed with pipeline international codes & standards, local regulations, industry / company requirements & practices and technical literature and publications
  • Should have solid experience in pipeline design – pipeline concepts, familiar with geotechnical , geohazards and geophysical issues, design basis, material and wall thickness design, on-bottom stability design, thermal design, coating selection, cathodic protection design, global buckling and walking analysis (preferable), free span and on-bottom roughness analysis, crossing design, shore approach design, riser & expansion spool design and installation analysis
  • Should have knowledge in material and corrosion assessment and pipeline integrity (preferable)
  • Exposure to clad and piggy back / bundle pipelines, and onshore pipelines (preferable)
  • Experience in generating field layouts, deep water architecture layouts, approaches, alignment, riser / spool
  • GA, and other pipeline drawings
  • Preferable to have experience in pipeline and subsea installation
  • Familiar with project management activities and experience of working in a consultancy environment
