POSITION/PURPOSE:
We are looking for an experience ROV Pilot / Technician who would like to move from a field role into the office to help 
support the ROV Services organization with training development and delivery. This position reports to the North America (NAM) Learning and Development Training Manager for ROV Services, Process Technology and Onshore EPC in Houston, TX.  

The learning and development specialist will gather and create learning content to improve organizational effectiveness, accelerate time to competency and improve execution by helping the business identify training gaps, propose innovative solutions and continuously improve training offerings to our ROV pilots and technicians. The learning and development specialist also ensures learning programs are being delivered in a manner that is effective, professional, and engaging so that the business demands and learning requirements are met, ensuring a flawless execution to maximize customer success.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as an internal consultant working directly with the assigned business unit to identify their training needs.
• Lead the development, deployment, promotion and management of provided training solutions.
• Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) and others to create new content such as documentation, presentations, activity prompts, and facilitator’s guides.
• Design and create classroom, multimedia, hands-on and online training content.
• Editing and formatting content written by others to ensure it reflects corporate guidelines and branding.
• Using a variety of media tools to create compelling content.
• Organize, deliver and facilitate training events.
• When necessary identify potential instructors from within the businesses to deliver courses developed by the learning organization.
• Train and equip instructors in content structure and delivery methods, ensuring learning is engaging as well as informative.
• Review the performance of instructors following the delivery of training classes, and provide feedback.
• Research additional delivery approaches to continually improve current practices.

REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree (US), GED equivalent (US), or equivalent qualification depending on geographic location with 4+ years of experience developing and delivering training.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience working with multiple customers to challenging timescales
• Experience working independently as well as within a collaborative, corporate environment
• Experience writing documentation for end users at a variety of technical proficiency levels.
• Experience working in a business with customer interaction (internal or external) is a plus.
• Proven successes in building and leveraging relationships to positively impact results.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledge and experience with offshore rig and vessel operations
• 5+ years of experience in the offshore oil and gas industry
• Knowledge of best practices in adult learning theory
• Knowledge of Articulate360 or similar training development software


SKILLS
• Highly skilled at working with MS Office software: Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
• Demonstrates proactive collaboration to effectively work in a globally diverse organization
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent oral and written communicator with strong influencing skills
• Excellent presentation skills, especially with use of MS PowerPoint or similar tool
• Skilled at engaging learners and checking for understanding to make sure learning objectives are met
• Good planning, organization and time management skills
• Strong coaching skills
• The ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities
