Purpose:
This position is responsible for
  • Managing shipment transactions (Import /Export) to ensure quality, cost effective, and delivery in timely manner and all import/export and insurance reporting are in accordance to Custom regulation and Global practice.

  • Managing warehouse inventory transaction and record keeping.

  • Perform Receiving / Issuing / Cycle count / Part maintenance

  • Perform loading / unloading, checking, arranging for pallet

  • Daily movement of parts into location and cycle count

 

Entry Qualifications:

 
  1. Diploma holder. Preferably Diploma in Logistic /Transportation Management

  2. Minimum two years of freight experience. Understand basic logistic and shipping terms and possess certain logistic functional knowledge (eg., Incoterms/HS Code, LCL, FCL, Custom Formality, etc.).

  3. Good understanding and ability to apply essential principles and practices of logistic management. 

  4. Demonstrate strong negotiation skills, planning skills and strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment.

  5. Must have ability to handle multiple tasks, using ingenuity to solve problems, in a high volume environment under general supervision. 

  6. Ability to recognize contractual requirements and variances from standards and procedures to ensure compliance.  Recognize when consultation with other departments is needed.

  7. PC skills including spreadsheet and word processing and SAP or similar mainframe experience.

  8. Knowledge of SAP inventory management preferred
    Good communication skill.
 
 

Relationship Responsibilities

 
  1. Ensure economical scale of cargo movement at reasonable spending.
  2. Directly responsible for the arrangement of shipment, which may result in production delays and excessive cost of productions

     

    Indicate internal/external contacts and purpose of contacts.

     

    Internal contacts - Interacts with planners, buyers and MMR coordinator in a team-based environment in order to fulfill job requirements. Expected to actively participate is cross-functional team efforts and projects as the opportunity arises.

     

External contacts - Interacts with suppliers, shipping agencies and customers’ logistics group.

 

Scope of responsibilities / accountability:

 

Works under minimum supervision on assignments that are broad in nature, requiring initiative, originality and ingenuity.  Receives objectives and guidelines from projects and planner.

 

Receives direction form reporting manager.

Must adhere to Quality Procedure, work instruction and BPMS.

 
Work environment and physical demands:
 

Exposed to shop floor or at supplier facilities and may be exposed to high noise levels, high temperatures, and close proximity to operation of heavy machinery and equipment.

   

Major responsibility areas:

 
  • Responsible for all import & export shipments (both local & international) from Quotation to delivery fulfilment.

  • Monthly submission of cargo clearance permit filing and Marine Report to Finance.

  • Send out RFQ for at least three bids for every order or freight lanes to ensure cost competitiveness.

  • Verify shipment documents to ensure complete set and make available for internal or external audit.

  • Verify all freight invoices to ensure no short or over billings.

  • Housekeeping to ensure Inventory are well preserved and maintained

  • Maintain and update Customer Properties record (Sharepoint)

  • Generate Delivery Notes and Maintain record

  • Inform customer job ready for collection.
  • Perform Receiving /Issuing inventories and posting into SAP.

  • Perform Receiving of non-inventory, expense items under purchase order and GR in SAP

  • Plan and Perform Process Audits in maintaining Quality system in the organization
