Lead - Subsea Distribution Assembly & Test (Night Shift)

We are looking for an experienced Production Control Planner who can join our team in Houston, Texas. As a Lead you will coordinates the activities of multiple work cell teams on a set shift to ensure that production and performance commitments are fulfilled.  Ensures seamless flow of production by performing advance planning of upcoming requirements and coordination of resources, tools and facility.  The role will trains, monitor and coach team members to improve skill level, to ensure adherence to principles, policies and standards and to improve safety, quality and process reliability in a cost effective manner. 

Job description
  • The lead is responsible for thoroughly understand all operational and safety policies, equipment and test procedures, and workflow processes required by the company, department and/ or the job function you’re leading.
  • Ensuring a safe work environment, identifying and reporting hazards and safety incidents.
  • The lead is responsible for planning the teams work scope & acting as the subject matter expert (SME) to assist the staff with overcoming any technical issues that arise during their tasks.
  • The lead is responsible for working with their manager(s) to identify workflow enhancements.
  • Responsible for forecasting equipment expenditures and managing costs within budget.
  • Management of equipment owned by both FMC Technologies and our customers.
  • Display a strong sense of managerial courage in making critical decisions on behalf of the group and department.
  • Ensure information is passed escalated at the appropriate time, effectively, accurately and directed to the correct audience.
  • Monitor workflow and workload and make adjustments as needed.
  • Determine work schedules with input from their Supervisor and Manager.
  • Assist with providing performance reviews assessments on team’s objections.
  • Communicate with the shop in daily “Tool Box Safety Meetings” covering topics such as safety, priorities, new issues, etc.

You are meant for this job if

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • 5+ years in a shop and/or engineering environment with experience in at least one of the following manufacturing specialties: machining, fabrication, welding, assembly and testing or material handling.
  • Experience with Subsea Distribution hardware production and operation preferred (HDMs, SDUs, UTAs, Cobra Heads, SFLs, etc.).
  • Basic part report, drawing, procedure reading and application skills are required.
  • Familiar with Production Control and sub-contract operations, techniques, requirements, etc..
  • Must be computer literate (SAP knowledge desirable).  Must possess excellent communication skills: written, oral and listening. 
  • Excellent skills in problem solving, total quality management, ingenuity and initiative are required to coordinate problem resolution and to execute the schedule requirements within a team environment. 
  • Must model the behaviors defined by organizational beliefs, personnel policies and citizenship principles.
