Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
 
Location: Channelview Site, Houston, Texas, USA
 
Department function:
Onshore services on subsea umbilical systems including but not limited to umbilical manufacturing, umbilical termination, umbilical testing (hydro, electrical, fiber optic and qualification), transpooling, monitoring, troubleshooting, packing/ loadout activities.
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Manufacture subsea umbilical to engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
  • Operate industrial equipment unique to TechnipFMC Umbilicals Inc. manufacturing facility
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Responsible for following company foundational beliefs: Safety, Integrity, Quality, Respect, and Sustainability in everyday work.
  • Read and understand technical instructions/procedures, manufacturing quality plans, to perform tasks following technical and quality standards established either by TechnipFMC Umbilicals Inc. or by the client;
  • Responsible for umbilical manufacture
  • Transfer manufactured products between reels and/or carousels
  • Report anomalies and/or events via verbal and written reports
  • Keep all work test reports (and/or any paper work) up-dated within a timely manner to comply with traceability and control of all information regarding test performed;
  • Responsible for umbilical final packing for shipment & delivery to client.
  • Offshore installation support of umbilical’s and subsea distribution hardware if applicable
 
In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with all Manufacturing Foremen on all projects daily.
  • Ensure that all Safety and Quality procedures are followed daily.
  • Be a role model for all employees and contractors daily.
 
Performance Measurement
 
The individual performance and assessment criteria shall be established during the annual appraisal assessment between the
employing Manager and jobholder.
 
Objectives and targets shall be assigned during the appraisal interview that the jobholder has to achieve in order to demonstrate competent performance.

Health & Safety Responsibilities
 
It is the policy of TUI to apply appropriate and effective QHS&E Management System including training and development of people on all contracts in a manner that is consistent with requirements in order to provide products and services that conform to specification and are fit for their intended purpose in terms of performance, safety and reliability.
 
The implementation of this policy is the responsibility of all Departments, but the particular responsibility and authority to exercise control over all QHS&E disciplines is delegated to the QHS&E Manager and his staff.
 
Tools & Equipment Used
 
All tools and equipment necessary will be listed in our internal procedures and will be made available to complete all tasks per
project.
 
Working Conditions/Degree of Effort Required
 
  • Physical: Able to stoop and bend, able to walk quickly and climb stairs, able to wear a respirator, able to lift 35 pounds
  • repetitively, able to manipulate tools with both hands, able to stand for long periods, able to see and hear within normal limits.
  • Locations: Able to work both onshore and off shore or at heights.
  • Shifts: Able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
 
Qualifications/Experience Required
 
  • High School Diploma or GED (Mechanic Technical School background is desired).
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in similar facilities in a manufacturing environment, dealing with tight
  • tolerance mechanical parts and hydraulic equipment, electrical testing equipment, maintenance planning and inspection,
  • extrusion knowledge.
  • PC Literate
 
Competencies/Skills Required
 
  • Forklift (up to 35k lbs.) and manlift (up to 65’) experience
  • Basic knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing plants
  • Knowledge of basic mechanics, basic hydraulics and basic pneumatic components
  • Able to communicate effectively – both orally and written in English
