Process Engineer 1 - Technology (Claremont)

Maintain and develop chemical engineering design software. Perform engineering calculations for the design of chemical processes, including fixed and fluid bed reactor design.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support of engineering design software for chemical processes. Interface with in-house and client IT departments regarding computer networking, software installations and software licensing.
• Analyze project specifications and inquiry requirements; develop design parameters and methodology accordingly under the supervision and guidance of a senior engineer.
• Prepare engineering calculations as required.
• Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD’s) piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID’s) and process data sheets for equipment and instruments.
• Maintain and develop chemical engineering design software.
• Uphold Technip standards of quality, applicable codes, and industry standards and practices.
• Follow-up on completed projects including start-up and performance guarantee test.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology trends.
• Maintain a high professional profile.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
• BS or MS Chemical Engineering, 3.5 GPA minimum
• Experience in writing & compiling source code to create software programs, preferred languages include C++ and FORTRAN
• Experience in testing & debugging software programs to identify and resolve errors
• Experience creating, installing & deploying software packages
• Experience with Chemical Process Simulators and Reactor Modeling
