Senior Mechanical Subsea Services Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager Subsea Services, your role will be to lead subsea engineering tasks assigned by the Principal Engineer or Project Manager in order to achieve project objectives, provide technical and project leadership at onshore and offshore sites, and ensure the development and implementation of safe procedures and processes.

 

This role will involve travel to client, subcontractor, vendor and consultant offices for meetings, with the time allocation split of 30% site/ offshore, 70% office.

 

This role will be offered on a 24 month fixed term contract.

 
Job description
  • Accountable for Subsea Service related engineering inclusive of Subsea tree, tubing hangers, connector system, manifolds, flying leads, Umbilical Termination Assembly, Distribution Modules and all associated tooling.
  • Deliver high quality, safe and environmentally responsible discipline engineering solutions, compliant with corporate standards, client requirements, legislation and industry standards.
  • Assist assigned Project Manager / Systems Engineer / Principal Engineer define engineering document deliverables for allocated project scope of work.
  • Manage an engineering team to execute the assigned work scope.
  • Participate in formal and informal reporting
  • Assist Engineering Manager in the identification and development of Discipline Engineering Technical Guidelines and Processes.
  • Help drives the planning and execution of Subsea Services project. This includes reviewing technical documents required for operations, e.g. rig books, installation, commissioning, preservation, maintenance etc as well as Life Of Field support.
  • Initiate and lead technical support during system integrations testing, offshore technical support, troubleshooting of field issues, root cause analysis and implementing preventive actions, pre-operational planning, technical support to service base operations.
  • Investigation and disposition of service or quality notifications, including root cause analysis and ensuring preventive actions are implemented where required.
  • Participate in Product Group Design Review and responsible for the creation or updating of the relevant Hardware related documents (i.e ICP, HFT, TST, THI, PSM, and pneumatic/hydraulic Schematics) when required.
 
You are meant for this job if
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (preferred Mechanical, Petroleum or Civil. Chemical Engineering can be considered).
  • Relevant industry experience in a similar role, with prior offshore experience preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of at least one TechnipFMC or related subsea product line or good knowledge of multiple technologies, products and applications.
  • Good understanding of engineering practices, design methods and calculations.
  • Solid analytical and problem solving, systematically utilizing prevention skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, & prepare applicable technical information & suggest design or process changes to ensure simple, functional, & cost-effective results.
  • Vast engineering documentational experience, including writing procedures, work instruction, and MOC. Demonstrate some senior level of engineering capabilities including reviewing documents.
  • Strong English both written and oral, with the confidence to present and communicate to all levels of internal and external personnel.
  • Have a strong computer literacy with Intermediate Microsoft office
