JOB PURPOSE:

Provide technical engineering support for planning and execution of subsea services related technical activities.


Technical support may be required during any of the following operations:


  • Tender Preparation
  • EPC Project Execution
  • Operations Planning and Execution
  • Life of Field Activities

The Subsea Services Controls Engineer is the link between field operations and technical deliverables from the tender, EPC project, product, and systems engineering teams related to the SPS Control System.


REPORTING LINES & INTERACTIONS:

Reports to: Project Manager

SPS Services Operations Manager 

Lead / Senior SPS Services Engineer


Internal Key Interaction: SPS Operations Team, TFMC Engineering Departments (Systems Engineering, C&A, WCS, Structurse/Tie-ins,SURF), Project Team, QA/QC, HSE, Workshop Team and Technicians.

External Key Interaction: Suppliers and Clients.


JOB MAIN CHALLENGES:

  • Shall be responsible SPS related controls engineering stuff inclusive EPU, MCS, Smart Tool, SPCTU, PHPU, TUTU, networking.
  • Frequent Travel. Shall be willing to travel either to onshore or offshore site to perform tasks assigned.
  • Required to work extended hours as needed to meet the job/project requirements and deadlines.
  • May be exposed to possible hazards including pressure testing, high noise, electrical testing, heavy material lifting and movement.
  • Periodically require to be available 24x7 by phone to support urgent field requirements.
  • To support and execute engineering deliverables in the field (Shop/Site Testing, Offshore Installation and Commisioning).
  • Provide the bridge of handover from Design Engineering and Offshore Installation and Commisioning. Execute offshore mobilization, testing, installation and commisioning.
  • Responsible for engineering inputs to maintainance, preservation and refurbhisment of Life of Field equipment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 TechnipFMC experience or minimum of 2 years relevant industry experience. Detailed knowledge of at least one related subsea product line. TechnipFMC Technology experience is preferred. Non TechnipFMC related candidates should have experience with a topside system supplier or intimate knowledge of electro-mechanical system
  • Knowledgeable of electrical system, PLC/DCS system, industrial instrumentation, network communications & configurations, and a basic understand of mechanical interfaces
  • Good understanding of engineering practices, design methods and calculations.
  • Demonstrate ability to be a team player (motivating, planning, negotiating and interpersonal communication skills) within a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, & prepare applicable technical information& suggest design or process changes to ensure simple, functional, & cost effective results.
  • Customer oriented attitude and the initiative and ability to work independently and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible to relocate to remote and non-remote locations and travel frequently for extended periods of time in field environment (5-35 day periods). 
  • Able to work hands-on in field environment such as operating HPU and Control System.
  • Good organization, project planning and communication skills (minimum Internal Region level). 

Desired

  • SPS controls experience on Topside Control System, IWOCS and HPU.
  • Good command of verbal and written English.
  • Very proactive and reactive.
  • Enthusiastic self-learner.
  • Offshore experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactively participate in HSE initiatives and standards including Start Stops, JSAs and Risk Assessments.
  • Provide SPS Services support for all Project Controls related issues.
  • Actively participates in the Controls EFAT/SIT & collaborate with the product team during the FAT, pre-operational planning, onshore and offshore technical support, maintenance operations, troubleshooting field issues, root cause analysis and implementing preventive actions.
  • To participate in Controls Product Group Design Review and responsible for the creation or updating of the relevant controls related documents (i.e ICP, TST, THI, PSM, Wiring Diagrams, Network Topology, IP address list, etc.) when required.
  • Participate in offshore planning and readiness reviews related to the TechnipFMC Control Systems to ensure all aspects of the offshore execution plan have been completed.
  • Lead/support the offsite or offshore testing, completion, intervention, commissioning and/or troubleshooting of TechnipFMC control systems.
  • Provide the onshore technical support for ongoing Controls related operations, troubleshooting field issues, root cause analysis and implementing preventive actions for the FMC Controls Systems
  • Initiate and lead after action reviews related to offshore installation and commissioning in order to gather lessons learnt and implement actions as required.
  • Support all local, regional, and global initiatives to improve quality and operational efficiency

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Time allocation: 50-70% Offshore, 30-50% Office.
