Sr. Project Logistics Manger

In this role, you will be responsible for developing Project logistics strategies and execution plans supporting Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects and overseeing logistics functions for the project.  In addition, you will manage major EPC projects while leading a team of direct reports. You will establish and implement Project Traffic & Logistics plans, work processes/procedures and resources to meet project requirements, budget and time constraints.  To be successful in this role, you will have a strong 
understanding of international commerce industry trends and best practices, working with current and prospective logistics service providers, and working with internal functions and departments to develop the best overall project logistics execution plan. Execution of these strategies includes establishing, measuring and managing to applicable metrics.

Responsibilities:

• Support the Traffic and Logistics planning and execution of domestic and international project requirements.
• Update and maintain logistics procedures, work practices, systems and tools with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Issue guidelines for coordination of transportation services and recommendations for freight terms, cargo insurance export preparation requirements, etc.
• Determine potential size limitations that could affect shipping.
• Establish marshalling facilities for consolidation of materials originating in the USA, Europe, South America, Asia, and the Middle East.
• Recommend freight forwarders, marine surveyors, export packing contracts, customs brokers, etc. Manage existing Alliance agreements with Freight Forwarders and other Logistics providers.
• Prepare and/or revise Project Import and Export Logistics Procedures and Compliance Procedures.
• Assess and facilitate the level of documentation required for all shipments. Review material lists for export license issues. Oversee the execution of export commercial documents in alignment with project requirements including interaction with Client entities.
• Resolve any documentary disputes between banks and or clients with respect to letter of credit documents
• Perform survey of facilities in <site location> for delivery limitations and issue guidelines for the transfer of materials from the Port to the jobsite.
• Interface with project disciplines to ensure quantity management throughout the life of the project.

Qualifications / Competencies / Experience:
• At least 15 years’ experience in traffic/logistics supporting EPC Mega -projects within the Oil & Gas or related industry.
• Background in movement of engineered equipment as well as oversize, overweight and hazardous materials for all transportation modes.
• Solid knowledge of traffic/logistics service contractors and subcontractors.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills with the ability to influence others.
• Ability to effectively negotiate logistics agreements with a proven track record of successful implementation.
• A track record of delivering innovative logistical solutions safely and economically.
• Willingness to travel.
• Vessel/Aircraft chartering /Module transportation experience.
