System Designer
 

At TechnipFMC, we deliver critical projects of a scale, scope and difficulty that you simply won’t find anywhere else. We are looking for a System Designer who can join our team in Stephenville, Texas. This role serves as a critical linkage between other departments and is the initial point of contact for all support needs and questions.  A strong technical aptitude and broad technical/business understanding is needed to serve in this role.  This role works closely with the product and new product development engineers to create specification, drawings, and DBI's.  This role supports the entire product life cycle from ideation to aftermarket support.  

 

Job description
  • Support creation of print, part, BOM, and ECN packages. 
  • Create/review engineering specifications with engineering supervision.
  • Contribute to technical training classes for personnel and customers.
  • Actively supports value-added engineering initiatives for product line. (i.e. standardization, optimization, new tooling, literature, etc.).
  • Visit vendor, customer, or field sites occasionally to review supplier issues, capabilities, etc.
  • Engage with engineering and business systems to advance project work (TCE, NX6, SAP).
  • Oversee NPD activities in manufacturing plant and support advancement of project in other departments.
  • Proactively breaks down barriers, sets priorities, and drives completion of tasks.
  • Product line first point of contact for manufacturing, vendor, sourcing, customer service, sales, and quality support to include technical support and testing of products.
  • Technical design and manufacturing support for engineering team. 
  • Engage non-engineering functions to advance project or NPD work.
  • Product line reviewer for documentation, prints and specifications.

You are meant for this job if
  • BS Degree in Engineering / Engineering Technology, Mechanical preferred. 
  • 5+ years mechanical/manufacturing design support experience
  • Strong interest in machinery and basic design for manufacture and use.
  • Ability and desire to learn and adhere to department procedures and business processes.
  • Understanding of how to read/interpret drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to do shop/field service work – use of tools for equipment repair and training sessions.
  • Highly detail orientated, with structured logic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment is important.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access), SAP, and TCE applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibits TechnipFMC core values in work interactions and activities.
  • Must possess a valid DL.
  • Office environment with daily interaction with departmental staff and supervisory and first level of management, but rarely outside customers. Work on a computer will be extensive.
  • Frequent sitting and operating a computer. Office sometimes noisy in periods of associate interaction. Fast paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and frequent change.
