You are meant for this job if

  • Fluent in conversational and written English.
  • Associate or Technical Degree preferred.
  • Typically 5 plus years of technical or industry experience.
  •  Broad understanding of industry policies, procedures, and organizational structure.

Job Purpose

  • Training Specialist is responsible for completion of the following key tasks and responsibilities:
  • Operational Alignment and Support- Responsible for assuring solid alignment with Asia and Australia business units.
  • Competencies – Assists with monitoring regional personnel competency solutions and assist with creating/ updating competency descriptors according to global standards.
  • Technical New Hire Program – Responsible for direct/ indirect supervision of trainees and their completion of global and regional curriculums.  
  • Technical Training – Assigns personnel to global and regional curriculums, monitoring personnel completion of assigned curriculums, providing compliance reports, and developing/ implementing regional training solutions for personnel.  
  • Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security– Assists the business in meeting regulatory, customer, and company HSES requirements, specific to personnel.  
  • Course Development – Identifies training needs and develops/ delivers solutions.
  • Training Delivery – Assists with planning, organizing, and facilitation of training.
  •  Qualification Programs – Builds qualification programs for personnel based on their job role, product line, and/ or services/ operations.  Programs ensure that personnel performing activities are working safely and competent to perform tasks.
  • Reporting – Compiles various reports to capture training progress, competency progression, and other departmental KPIs.
  • Technical Assessment – Manages Technical Assessment process.  Develops technical assessment criteria and requirements, assigns assessment profile to employees, and audits completion and compliance of Technical Assessment process and programs

 

Job Challenges

  •  Spends 70% of the time in the office and 30% in a field/ shop environment.

  • Exposure to possible hazards including high levels of noise, heavy machinery and shop traffic.

 

Main Accountabilities

  • Design & Develop Learning Events - Identifying learning needs aligned with identified competencies. Link those needs back to a coherent learning development plan and or individual course development plan. Facilitate the generation of learning plans & modules to align with processes.
  • Assist with the Design of Curriculums / Learning Plans - Formulate positional learning plans and determine appropriate small and large group instructional methods, linking to appropriate competencies. (i.e. self study, individual learning, on-the-job learning, mentoring, computer tutorial, group instruction, role play, lecture, demonstration, conference, meeting, workshop and other methods.)
  • Transfer and Deliver Learning – Train the Trainer as required. Present modules to syllabus objectives as required. Assure that course is aligned with roll/positional learning plan and needs analysis.
  • LMS Management Coordination - Coordinate creation and maintenance of program documentation in current LMS system in collaboration with the Regional LMS administrator.  Generate reports for business, when applicable.
  • Field Assessments – Organize and support field assessments processes to support compliance.  
  • Classroom, Class Planning and Management – Plan for and facilitate learning classes assuring instructor and participant  materials are aligned with University standards
  • Implements programs and processes as needed in order to achieve business results
  • Responsible for implementing and administering company policies and procedures in order to successfully achieve business objectives
  • Ability to develop, improve and implement processes, policies and procedures that impact direct function
  • Ability to provide input and solve difficult/specialized technical issues.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and communicate across all levels of management, including
  • executives and internal/external customer
  • Proactive in identifying and preventing potential nonconformance’s.
  • Ability to integrate company goals across their areas of responsibility.
  • Assist with the development of Subsea and Surface personnel.
  • Participate in required council and organizational meetings.
  • Interface with global community to help set standards.
  • Strong ability to persuade and influence others.
  • Prepare and present complex reports to all levels of management, including executives and internal/external customers.
  • Ability to complete performance reviews and provides constructive performance feedback.
  • Participates in budget development and responsible for managing costs within budget.
  • Works with others to develop functional solutions to strategic organizational concerns and presents recommendations to functional department leadership.
  • Responsible for ensuring competency assessment compliance.  
  • Responsible for improving overall service quality.
