Are you our new Technical Writer in TechnipFMC, Kuala Lumpur?

 


Job Purpose 
The intent is to leverage upon the expertise and capabilities offered by a Technical Writer as part of our vision of continuous improvement.  The aim is to improve our technical write-ups and reports to better engage with the various stakeholders and be effective in our communications.

Particular focus is on communication of our expertise as a market leader and to differentiate ourselves from our competitors in the services, capabilities and assurances we offer.  The aim is also to influence and improve the capabilities of our team in ways of effective communication.


 

Main Accountabilities

  • Develop management and execution plans, executive summaries, letters to client, reports, standards, and training materials to suit a variety of audiences.
  • Transform complex subject matter into customer centric, easy-to-understand and graphical information for specific audiences that engage with stakeholders.
  • Refresh outdated standards and working processes in conjunction with the subject matter experts.
  • Enhance and standardize various reporting threads-ensuring leaner and "to the point" reports whilst maintaining contractual and organizational compliance of all progress reporting for distribution to internal Management and or the client.
  • Develop, review and implement a range of training materials for eLearning and face-to-face training to further develop capabilities in effective communication and reporting skills.  Particularly those professionals that do reporting during the course of a Project-Project Director/Manager, PCM, Project Engineers, Planning.
  • Provide professional writing and editing services with respect to technical writing, desktop publishing, copy editing, and proofreading to Proposal and Project Teams.
  • Improve creative writing to enhance the various messages included in our technical write up.
  • Be an enabler of information.
  • Engage in formatting, editing, and quality assurance on own work and the work of others.
  • Improve editorial and visual standards for documents and recommend new designs, layouts and procedures, as needed.
  • Train or coach more junior technical writers.
  • A degree holder in English/Communication or related field.

You are meant for this job if
  • Experience in oil and gas projects and in tendering/proposals.
  • Possess technical knowledge in oil and gas.
  • Experience in being a business analyst, a reporting specialist or a graphic designer.
  • Proven working experience in technical writing in relevant field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent English in dialogue, comprehension and written.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Willing to take on fixed term contract.
