Job Title: Welding & NDE Material Engineer
 
Job Purpose
The candidate will be working in the Welding and NDE Section within Materials & Technologies Department.
Will start working into a Project as Welding and NDE Engineer with the coordination of Materials & Technologies Discipline Coordinator.
Prospective for the candidate is to grow up encompassing all Welding and NDE issues.
As Welding and NDE Engineer main tasks will be the following:
  • Review of Vendors’ documentation (WPS, PQR, WKF, WPQ, NDE procedures, QCP, etc.)
  • Develop Job Specification for vessel fabrication
  • Develop Job Specification for piping fabrication, including NDE and PWHT extent for Piping Classes
  • Qualify and write WPS in accordance with ASME Section IX a/o other recognized Codes & Standards (e.g. AWS, EN, etc.) for the most common welding processes applied in the oil and gas industries  
  • Selection of filler metals for adjoining homogeneous and dissimilar parent metals.
  • Cooperate in preparing Data Sheet of special materials
  • Cooperate in preparation of Material Requisition for piping inquiry and purchase
  • Cooperate in analyzing offers from vendors, the technical Bid Tabulation, including technical clarifications and deviations (both piping and vessels)
  • Training, coordination and surveillance of welders
  • Coordination and surveillance of NDE activities
  • Communication of the "Welding Best Practices" throughout the Subcontractor workers
  • Inspection of shop/field fabrication and construction activities aiming at maintaining high quality standards
  • Provide welding consultation for day-to-day welding issues
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and creativity in dealing with day-to-day problems
 
 
Reporting Line and interactions
Hierarchically reports to Technip Italy Welding and NDE Section Head
 
Functionally reports to Materials & Technologies Project Discipline Coordinator

Requirements
Must have:
  •  Qualification in Welding and NDE (a/o BS in Welding Engineering or Metallurgy)
  • At least 2 years of Professional Experience
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Full availability for short/long assignments abroad (either construction sites or other Operating Centers)
  • Ability to Work under Minimum Supervision
  • Dynamic work approach
  • High communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel software
  • Fluent in other languages (Spanish, French)
  • Team working approach
  • Availability to continuous education
 
Nice to have:
  • AWS (American Welding Society) Certified Welding Inspector
  • ASNT/EN certifications for NDEs
  • Mechanical/Material/Chemical Engineering Degree
