We are looking for an experienced Materials Coordinator who will help manage vendor contracts and commercial agreements as well as control the flow of all inventory and third-party services required for product delivery

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads and directs the work of Assembly Technicians in multiple work centers located at a single shop facility to ensure that production and performance commitments are fulfilled. Work centers may be responsible for servicing large and complex assemblies including tree and intervention systems or mechanical and hydraulic tooling assets. Individuals in the role are able to solve complex issues and make modifications as needed. It is necessary for someone in this role to effectively teach and transfer subject matter to others. This position uses extensive assembly experience, advanced skills and judgment to complete any assigned assembly projects.

 

·         Interfaces with all functional areas involved with Assembly to troubleshoot, communicate and resolve issues.  Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.  Direct interface with Customer Representative.

·         May communicate with customer, usually with supervision, during on-site installation assembly projects.

·         Works under minimal supervision.  Relies on experience, judgment and advanced skills to plan and accomplish assigned goals.  Resolves questions and problems in mastered sub-assemblies.  Refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.

·         May assist in orienting, training, assigning and checking the work of less experienced employees.

 

MAIN TASKS:

·         High level of focus on overall Safety of Services within assigned work area.

·         Responsible for overall production performance of assigned shift to ensure adherence to published schedules and delivery requirements. 

·         Stabilize work processes and improvement efforts with a consistent focus for improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. 

·         Ensure employees are performing work per approved work instructions and procedures.

·         Responsible for the evolution of workshop services according to customer and industry needs.

·         Establish and promote strong HSE culture among direct and indirect reports.  Enforce corporate HSE policies with focus on informing direct and indirect reports about specific risks and hazards related to their daily tasks.  Participates and approves JSA’s, facilitates safety moments, toolbox talks, and routine communication of safety information to promote HSE education.   

·         Resolves technician issues and conflicts and acts as a catalyst to provide technicians with everything needed to complete work.  Encourages technicians to escalate issues and conflicts quickly.

·         Remains active and visible on the shop floor to drive safety, quality, and productivity

·         Delivering workshop services within internal customer need dates.

·         Development and maintenance of work center routing standards.

·         Ensure actual performance of operations against work center routing standards

·         Active participant in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives for the Subsea Services Asset Services Organization

·         Planning for equipment maintenance, mobilization and demobilization in full compliance with the FMC Technologies maintenance philosophy and any Project Specific requirements

·         High level of focus on overall Quality of Services provided by Subsea Services.

·         Represent Subsea Services in a positive manner in events with stakeholders in our business

·         Full support of process documentation and employees complying with FMC Technologies and/or Subsea Services specific approved procedures, processes and standards.

·         Responsible for administering company policies and procedures in order to successfully achieve business objectives.

·         Regular assessment, mentoring, and development of personnel resources. Assist with personnel development including skill level assessments, performance management and competency assessment for all functions within the associated organization. 

·         Participates in quarterly performance reviews with supervisor to ensure development agreements and timely performance feedback is being communicated.

·         Leads functional reports in alignment with all FMC Technologies Core Values, Quality Policies, Global and Regional vision.

·         Leads and facilitates the continuous improvement of the processes and methods to increase workshop efficiency and performance against standards.

·         Facilitates communications, problem resolution and provides appropriate feedback, both positive and corrective within the team.

·         Acts as a technical resource providing guidance and expertise for reports in their daily technical work.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

·         High school diploma or equivalent required.  

·         Technical School certificate or National Diploma preferred.

·         Generally 8+ years of experience in field.

·         Typically 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

·         Ability to point out deviations from standards, implementing suggested solutions.

·         Ability to use technical tools and instruments required to perform duties.  Intermediate proficiency with applicable hardware, software, and/or business processes used by organization.

·         Demonstrate proficiency to read, interpret and evaluate the functionality and/or accuracy of drawing and technical documentation.

·         Ability to identify a problem, obstacle, or opportunity and take action which addresses current and/or future problems or opportunities.  Identifies and implements solutions for complex problems through the application of proven and/or new techniques.

·         Industry knowledge is required.

·         Strong computer proficiency with applicable software applications in related field.

·         Able to utilize prevention skills.

·         Ability to establish deadlines and manage priorities for self and others is critical.

·         Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively teach what they know and influence direct reports and management.

·         Leads functional project teams and manages critical timelines with the goal to streamline and provide critical customer success.

·         Required to give and receive constructive feedback and coaching, and respond appropriately.

·         Ability to transfer subject matter expertise.  Strong ability to persuade is important.

·         Ability to assist in the completion of performance reviews.

·         Ability to coach and mentor others is important.

·         May deliver oral presentations and prepare portions of presentations for others to present.

·         Understanding and communication within diverse cultural environments is critical.

·         Very rarely requires supervision or direction beyond providing desired outcomes.  Leading teams.

·         Ability to supervise more diverse or complex functions.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Shop environment.  Works in confined workspaces.  High noise level.  Frequent exposure to possible shop hazards including heavy equipment, chemicals, flash burns, UV exposure, hot parts, eye injuries, high pressure and high noise levels.  90% of time is spent on the shop floor mentoring, monitoring, and directing daily work tasks and employees. 5% of time is spent working in office environment.  5% of time is working offsite attending training, meetings, etc.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

Climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing upward, crawling in confined workspace, walking and lifting daily
